- [About Izuyasu] How many years has Izuyasu been in business?
Izuyasu was founded in 1839 in the latter end of the Edo Period.
- [About Izuyasu] Is there a curfew?
Our inn is locked at 11:00pm. Since this inn is an Edo period kyomachiya style building and more than 170 years old, the sounds of guests returning late can be heard around the old building and may cause bother to other guests. Due to this, and for the safety of our guests, we ask our guests to be careful to return to the inn before the doors lock at 11:00 pm. Thank you for your cooperation.
- [About Izuyasu] What time is check-in?
Check-in starts at 3:00 pm. Luggage storage is available before this time. Please check in by 9:00 pm.
- [About Izuyasu] How far of a walk is it to the station?
It is around a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. Izuyasu faces Higashinotoin Street.
- [About Izuyasu] Is it possible to store luggage?
We can store your luggage before check-in and after check-out.
- [About Izuyasu] Is there a parking lot?
We have parking available on the north side of our inn. If you wish to use the parking lot, please indicate so at the time of booking.
- [About Izuyasu] What kind of artwork is on display in the inn?
We have a wide collection of artwork for each season that we have acquired over the years, for example we have excellent Hina and May doll displays for the hinamatsuri and Boy’s Day celebrations, which have been passed down in the family since the Edo period.
- [ Rooms ] How far in advance can I make a reservation for accommodation?
Reservations can be made up to six months in advance of the desired arrival date.
- [ Rooms ] Are there toilets?
Each room has ensuite toilets.
- [ Rooms ] Are there baths in the rooms?
There are no baths or showers in the rooms. We have three traditional Japanese family-sized baths available for use in the inn. These facilities are shared with all guests staying; however, they are private and you can reserve a time to use the facilities privately.

- [ Rooms ] Which rooms have a garden view?
On the first floor, “Shin” and “Kou” face the garden. On the second floor, you can see the garden below from “Yu”, “Se”, and “Yuki”.
- [ Rooms ] Which rooms are on the second floor?
“Ki”, “Zui”, “Yu”, “Se”, and “Yuki” are on the second floor.
- [ Rooms ] I would like a quiet room.
Since the building was constructed in 1839 out of wood, it is not possible to completely shut out outside noise. Thank you for your understanding.
- [ Rooms ] Is there a TV?
There is not a TV in the room. If you would like one, please let us know when you book.
- [ Rooms ] Are there decorations like hanging scrolls and flowers?
In the tokonoma alcoves, there are hanging art scrolls and flower arrangements. We change these often according to the seasons, so we hope you can enjoy the feeling of the changing seasons.

Massage services are available. However, this service depends on availability and may not be possible at your desired time.
- [Meal] About starting time

Dinner starts at 7:00 pm. You can choose when to have your breakfast from 7:00 am to 8:30 am.
(For customers who have booked only lunch or dinner)
Lunch is available from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm. (Please note that check-in for guests at the inn starts from 3:00 pm). Dinner will start at 7:00 pm.- [Meal] Regarding allergies or dietary restrictions like vegan or vegetarian
Please inform us of your dietary needs and restrictions when booking so that we can serve you the best food we can.
- [Meal] About the meal contents
The dinner service is a traditional Kyoto-style kaiseki course meal. The kaiseki is seven courses.
The menu changes every day, as we use fresh, seasonal ingredients that have been bought on the same day.- [Meal] I want to eat at the counter seats.
Please let us know your seating preference at the time of your booking. We ask for your understanding if the seats at the counter are at full capacity.
- [Meal] Regarding the maximum number of people in a group
We can accommodate up to 20 people. Due to the limits of the building, we are not able to accommodate more than this.
- [Meal] Is dining possible for one person?
Dining is available for one customer.
- [Meal] Is there anything you can do for celebrations like birthdays or honeymoons?
For lunch or dinner service, we can offer one bottle of house red, white or sparkling wine on the house to help you celebrate.
- [Baths] Are the bathroom facilities connected to the room?
While there are ensuite toilets, there are no baths or showers connected to the room. We have three Japanese style family-sized bathrooms available for your use.
- [Baths] Can I make a reservation for the baths?
The baths are shared using a time system. When you check-in, we will ask you for your preferred time to use the baths.
- [Baths] What is a family bath?
They are large private baths with showers available too.
When using the bathrooms, please be sure to lock the doors to ensure your privacy. The bathrooms are available for use by all guests so please be careful to lock the door when in use.- [Baths] How many baths are there?
We have three bathing rooms available.

You can use the baths until 11:00 pm.
- [Baths] Can the bath facilities be used in the mornings too?
Only the showers are available in the morning.
